SUBStitution's people

Anne Burgi established SUBStitution in 1984 as a locum service for regional and rural newspapers. Her broad practical knowledge of a variety of sectors and media is highly valued by our clients. Peta Neilson and Margaret Langdon bring their own unique skills and experience to the SUBStitution team, working with Anne to provide our clients with personalised services that meet their particular needs.

The SUBStitution team specialise in the following areas:

  • editing services
  • design, layout and production
  • publication management
  • peer-review administration
  • project management

This allows our clients to concentrate on the content, quality and strategic role of their publications.

Our wider network includes graphic designers, photographers, website development specialists and writers with whom we have collaborated for many years.

The SUBStitution team is proficient in a wide range of software, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and electronic publishing software.


Why are we called SUBStitution?

SUBStitution began as a locum sub-editing service for regional and rural newspapers. We may not 'substitute for sub-editors' any more, but we still like the name!
